Time Line
SGDC as a local church only
- December 2002
- SGDC is formally incorporated as a church in the state of Iowa.
- June 2003
- SGDC formally launches its ministry in Des Moines.
SGDC as a Branch Church
- Fall 2003
- SGDC begins to explore the branch concept after a contact with someone in Cedar Rapids. Philip and Stuart begin discussions with Sioux Falls.
- April 2004
- Sioux Falls becomes the second branch of SGDC. Roger Kraft, Jimmy Beldon, and David Hoffman become elders. Tim Jackson becomes a deacon.
- September 2004
- Elk River becomes a branch plant of SGDC. Ed Gleason and Brad Neubarth become elders.
- November 2004
- SGDC holds its first Weekend Bible Conference in Des Moines, IA.
- August 2005
- SGDC holds its first All-Church Retreat in Elk River, MN.
- February 2006
- Great Falls becomes a branch plant of SGDC. An organizing committee is formed.
- October 2006
- Omaha becomes a branch plant of SGDC. An organizing committee is formed.
Branch Concept
We are excited about how God is using our branch concept. To date, we have 5 branches with other communities praying and considering the possibility of becoming branches of our church.
